Charlotte Bellamy has made it clear that Laurel Thomas and Jai Sharma are done for good. Viewers must recall that the pair had a big fight over Jai hiding the truth about Amit’s departure. Their argument heated after Jai said some hurtful things about Laurel’s late husband, Ashley.
Consequently, Laurel decided to end their marriage. Recently, while speaking with Inside Soap, Bellamy revealed that there’s no chance of Laurel and Jai getting back together, even with Rishi’s memorial coming up. The actress expressed doubt that the couple could ever reconcile.
On the topic of whether Laurel regrets her decision, she mentioned that Laurel remains firm in her stance and is resolute in her choice. She reflects on the goodness of her late husband Ashley, who she believes was saintly, contrasting him with Jai.
The ITV actor also added that Laurel’s choice to end her relationship with Jai resulted from an ‘accumulation of things.’ She reflected that her heart attack prompted her to reassess her life and view things more clearly. This, combined with discovering Jai’s actions regarding business, led her to see her husband for who he really is.
Bellamy stated, “Laurel has a second chance at life, does she really want to be with a man like that” As for whether Laurel should remain single for a while, she suggested exploring it would be intriguing. Laurel represents many women in their early 50s who are single and raising children.
The star thought Laurel might have some romantic flings and possibly try online dating. However, she was uncertain about another long-term relationship.
