Emmerdale fans have worked out what is really wrong with Moira Dingle.

Moira – played by Natalie J Robb – collapsed this evening in shocking scenes whilst looking after one of the new animals at the farm. She collapsed in the barn after suffering a seizure – but will she be ok?

The fan favourite character has left fans concerned, with Cain convinced she has turned to alcohol as a means to cope. However, fans are sure something else is wrong with her, with some convinced she has a terminal illness.

In the barn tonight, as she looked out over the farm, a sudden beep was heard and she fell to the ground before suffering a seizure, with viewers rushing to social media to share their thoughts on what might be wrong.

One fan wrote: “Oh no. I’d heard rumours Moira was leaving. Is this a fatal brain tumour, maybe? #emmerdale,” whilst a second added: “So it looks like Moira has a possible tumour. Would explain her changed personality. If that’s the case, I hope the writers do a good job with this storyline #Emmerdale.” A third penned: “Anyone else thinking Moira may have a brain tumour and that’s changing her behaviour? And the drinking is a smokescreen? #emmerdale,” with a fourth writing: “Got to be a brain tumour that, poor Moira #emmerdale.” “Oh no Moira please let her be ok and whatever is wrong isn’t life threatening….i love Moira,” a fifth added.

Actress Natalie J Robb – who has played Moira on the ITV soap since 2009 – previously opened up about how much she loves her job. Asked if she loves her work on Emmerdale, she said: “I really do. And to still be doing what I love, to still be in work, it’s great. I get people asking if I’d ever want to go off and do theatre, but my love is television drama. I enjoy the fact that it’s not the same thing every day. I love the spontaneity of it all – you just never know what’s going to happen next, especially in a soap like Emmerdale.”

Natalie is good friends with a lot of her colleagues, including Cain actor Jeff Hordley and Ash Palmisciano, who plays her son Matty.

“I see a lot of Jeff Hordley, who plays my on-screen husband Cain, and his wife Zoe Henry [who plays Rhona Goskirk]. I go round to their house often. And I’m close to Ash Palmisciano, who plays my on-screen son Matty. I’ll often go for Sunday lunch with him and Natalie Ann Jamieson [Amy Wyatt],” she said in a recent interview.
