Emmerdale’s Belle Dingle, played by Eden Taylor-Draper, will be the focus in a special hour-long episode on Thursday night.
In upcoming scenes, the hit ITV soap will air a stylised episode focused upon Belle and the domestic abuse she’s been suffering at the hands of her evil husband Tom King (James Chase). Only recently the ITV soap has been tackling a coercive control storyline with Tom and Belle.
Away from the village, it appears that Belle star Eden, 26, who has played the soap favourite since 2005, has enjoyed a well-deserved break from the gruelling storyline. Taking to Instagram earlier this week, Eden shared sun-drenched idyllic snaps from the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

The actress’ co-stars were quick to comment on the snaps as Amelia Spencer star Daisy Campbell wrote: “So stunning Eden” with a heart emoji, Kerry Wyatt star Laura Norton put: “What a girl” while Sarah Sugden star Katie Hill added: “Gorgeous <3.”
In recent scenes, Tom targeted his estranged wife Belle once again in a sickening camera twist and even used their dog Piper against her. After Belle told him she did not want to get back with him and was ending their marriage, after months of abuse, Tom was furious as he retaliated. In upcoming scenes on Thursday, Emmerdale will air a special episode, where the audience will be privy to three different potential future realities that could happen to Belle.
The night before Tom has threatened Belle saying he will never give up on her. His words are the catalyst that propels Belle into a dream-like day, as what might happen in her future life is reflected back at her. A synopsis teases: “The story follows a dazed Belle leaving her house with each scenario she then encounters playing out within the world of the Emmerdale village.
“As Belle interacts and observes situations that may never actually happen in reality, we realise the horror of what could occur in her future. Up until now, Belle has been fearful of speaking out about the abuse she has been suffering, which is very typical of a coercive relationship.”
Belle star Eden recently said of the upcoming episode said: “I’m excited for everyone to see this ‘dream’ episode as I feel it’s a great representation of what’s going on inside Belle’s mind and the constant fear even though she is no longer ‘in’ the abusive relationship. It was a very special episode to film, I understand viewers will find it distressing and uncomfortable but I am so proud we are exploring this to its full potential to give people a real insight to what can go on.”
