Emmerdale fans are convinced they've worked out what happened to Caleb Milligan's missing daughter Stephanie as the mysterious character was mentioned on the ITV soap for the first time
Emmerdale viewers reckon they’ve cracked the mystery surrounding Caleb Milligan’s secret daughter Stephanie after she was mentioned for the first time this week.
Caleb (played by Will Ash) revealed during a hospital confrontation with Ruby Fox-Milligan’s mother Helen Fox (Sharon Maughan) that he and wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly) have a daughter named Stephanie.
While fans of the ITV soap have been introduced to the couple’s son Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope), Stephanie has never appeared on screen and has only been referred to once before when Caleb hinted at having more than one child.
This week saw Helen enquiring about her granddaughter Stephanie, questioning whether Caleb had any involvement in her life now. He became defensive, indicating that he and Ruby are not currently involved in her life. But where is she and what has happened to her?
Fans believe they’ve pieced together the puzzle regarding Stephanie’s whereabouts, with some speculating that she will soon make her entrance into the village. One viewer even suggested online that she might turn up over the festive period, reports Leeds Live.
Emmerdale’s plot thickens as fans theorise over Stephanie’s ‘true’ age, suggesting she could be older than Nicky with some reckon Ruby and Caleb were just youngsters themselves when they had her.
One eagle-eyed fan took to social media to share their thoughts: “So Helen and Caleb referred to Ruby being disowned when she got pregnant by Caleb – seems reasonable to assume Stephanie is therefore the baby born circa 1996 and either never mentioned cos they have all fallen out or maybe she had to be adopted – in which case we’re looking for a girl about 28 years old who maybe isn’t called Stephanie anymore?”
Another chimed in with: “Maybe they was really young when they had her and was forced to adoption as Ruby’s parents refused to help.” Yet another viewer threw another possibility into the mix, pondering if Stephanie might be sharing a cell with notorious serial killer Meena Sharma (Paige Sandhu), posting: “So Stephanie… # Emmerdale. In prison with Meena? “.
As rumours swirl that Ross Barton (Michael Parr) is set to make his return to Emmerdale, some speculate that Stephanie might just tag along. On an Emmerdale fan Facebook page, speculation abounds with one fan positing: “So Stephanie has been mentioned by Caleb…what if Stephanie turns up and is partnered with Ross Barton? ” Joining in on this fan theory, someone quickly responded: “I said the same last night, bet you Ross will know her.”
Another fan chimed in, stating: “I’ve just said i wonder if Ross will come back with Caleb and Ruby’s daughter and there will be some big twist in it all.” Echoing these thoughts, another viewer added: “Yes Ross will know this Stephanie for sure.” A fifth was adamant, declaring: “Caleb’s daughter and Ross will be a couple.”
