Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) are engaged in Emmerdale and our hearts are absolutely bursting.

Ever since Paddy confessed to kissing Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) during an emotional moment, his relationship with Mandy has been a bit up in the air.

While Paddy has apologised profusely for the mistake, Mandy struggled to move past the fact in the second Paddy leaned in to kiss Chas, he wasn’t thinking about her – it was a heartbreaking betrayal.

Perhaps the most important thing that saved Paddy and Mandy was the fact they know deep in their hearts they are destined to be together. These two characters have grown up together in the village and despite every difficult challenge they’ve faced individually and as a partnership, things usually iron themselves out in the end.

Tonight, Paddy was in the pub kitchen chatting to Marlon (Mark Charnock) about his relationship. He was feeling pretty down and wondered if he was destined to be on his own forever. Marlon, who was icing a chocolate cake at the time, took the approach of being very forward and told Paddy if he wants to get Mandy back, he should go and do something about it.

Comments from his best friend weren’t quite enough for Pads. Outside, Tom (James Chase) found Paddy and expressed his thoughts on the situation too. He said Paddy should show Mandy how much he loves her by creating a grand gesture and sweeping her off her feet.

Meanwhile, in the salon, Amelia (Daisy Campbell) had taken it upon herself to transform Mandy so she could go and get her man back.

We love it!

As Amelia worked her magic, Paddy was outside the salon with a bunch of roses. He was apprehensive and then in an unexpected twist, he put the flowers in the bin.

Paddy then returned in his Prince Charming outfit. As Mandy emerged from the salon, she faced Paddy as they both realised they had had the exact same idea.

Paddy apologised to Mandy and pulled out his replacement to the roses – a bag of white chocolate mice. Of course.

The couple kissed and reunited, but that wasn’t the end of the story.

That evening, at the Dingles, Paddy and Mandy sat in their pyjamas and had an emotional moment.

Paddy – once again – said sorry for his actions and said in his life, he does ‘stupid things’ and makes ‘stupid mistakes’.

‘Loving you? It’s not one of them’, he added.

As if the romantic moment couldn’t get any better, Paddy then got down on one knee and proposed – and of course Mandy said yes.

So, another Dingle wedding awaits but given the fact this couple appear stronger than ever, let’s hope the big day is one filled with happiness, love and positivity.

If anyone deserves it, it’s Mandy and Paddy.
