Axed Emmerdale legend reunites with co-star ahead of new chapter

Axed Emmerdale legend Bhaskar Patel has reunited with his co-star Liam Fox less than a year after they both left the show.

Bhaskar played Rishi Sharma in the ITV soap for twelve years before being cruelly killed off on adoptive son Jai’s (Chris Bisson) wedding day last July.

Jai had learnt that his uncle Amit (Anil Goutam) was his birth father just weeks before his nuptials to Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy).

Meanwhile, Liam’s character Dan Spencer departed the show a month later, having been jailed for eight years for the death of creepy Lloyd Sawyer (Matt Sutton).

Lloyd had been stalking Dan’s daughter Amelia (Daisy Campbell) and killed him with a single punch.

Now, he’s set to take on the role of Grandpa Potts in the nationwide tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: The Musical.

The production is based on the 1968 film of the same name starring Dick Van Dyke, which in turn was an adaption of a book written by James Bond author Ian Fleming four years earlier.

In a sweet photo shared to Liam’s 7,000 Instagram followers, Bhaskar looked a far cry from his role as Rishi, with a long, wispy white beard and moustache.

As he is London based, it seems that he’s offered a spare room to Liam whilst performing in the capital.

‘First day of rehearsals for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on Tour tomorrow, being looked after in London for the duration by my mucka Bhaskar Patel’ he explained.

‘Can’t wait to start and catch up with Jenny Gayner, the pigeon lady! Exciting times ahead.’
