CAUSING MAYHEM ‘Just a pain!’ fume Emmerdale fans as they demand ‘cringe-worthy’ character is axed from soap
One scene left fans in hysterics but many were left insisting that her character must go
EMMERDALE fans have been left begging show bosses to axe a ‘pain-inducing’ character amid her hapless ways.
Disgruntled viewers have been left unhappy with the direction of character Kerry Wyatt, played by Laura Norton, in recent weeks.
Kerry has been causing mayhem in the Dales since returning from being a Cher tribute act aboard a cruise ship.
She had also seemingly inherited a secret wealth that allowed her to splash out on designer bags and pay off Amy and Matty’s wedding, taking place at Kim Tate’s home.
In reality, Kerry had already squirrelled away her money and was left selling off a necklace that she stole from the ship in order to drum up the cash.
However, Kerry was left utterly shocked to realise that it was worth a measly £100 and not the thousands that she expected it to bring in.
Having been hounded for the cash to pay off the wedding fees, Kerry knew her time was up but it was as Amy and Matty were having a wedding rehearsal that Kim insisted that without payment there and then, the wedding could no longer go ahead at her house.
Fans were left furious at Kerry and criticised the show heavily for the scenes involving the ruthless scammer.
Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one fan wrote: “Why oh why have they resurrected Kerry’s sad character #Emmerdale?”
Another then added: “#Emmerdale Is Kerry supposed to be funny? She isn’t, she’s just a pain and I wish she’d leave again, permanently.”
As a third said: “Bringing Vanessa and Kerry back is just not needed! I enjoyed it much better without them!”
Before a fourth blasted her, saying: “Really wish they had written the murderer Kerry out. A cringe-worthy character. #Emmerdale.”
In the episode, Kerry caused laughter after she prayed to a picture of Cher by candelight.
She could be heard saying to the pop god: “Hey, me again. I know you probably think I only pray to you when I want something but I am in a right bind this time and I really really really need your help.
“Amy and Matty deserve the best wedding ever so could you please just make sure this necklace is worth an absolute mint so that I can pay for it all.
“Thank you.”
One person declared: “I literally just spat my drink out when I saw Kerry was praying to a picture of a Cher.”
