THE iconic character is ready to call time on their marriage after a series of setbacks
EMMERDALE has aired a shock exit for Marlon Dingle as his troubles with wife Rhona Goskirk have spiralled out of control.
The chef – who is played by actor Mark Charnock in the ITV soap – is struggling to get over Rhona’s betrayals and tonight they clashed over her insisting they just needed to move on.
She promised to stop making decisions without speaking to him – and then he walked into her discussing baby Ivy’s Christening without him.
He walked out and went to work, with Rhona following him to the pub and having a furious row that ended up with Marlon hurling a bowl across the kitchen.
Rhona mocked him and he walked out, furious at her lack of compassion or willingness to see things from his point of view.
And he made a decision – to get away for a while.
But as Rhona arrived home, she found Marlon packing up a car with Paddy.
“Me and Paddy are going camping,” he told her.
“Don’t worry, she’s fed and changed and happy sleeping, it’s a straight-forward handover.
“Sorry what?” said a stunned Rhona who clearly had no idea Marlon was leaving.
Marlon told her: “I just need a break.
“Well actually I was hoping we could resolve what happened earlier,” replied Rhona.
But Marlon said: “I’m not entirely sure there’s anything to resolve. Whether it was a misunderstanding or whether it wasn’t, I can’t be under the same roof as you.
“So I’m going camping with my mate because I need a break. And while I’m away let’s have a think whether this, me and you, can actually work. Because I’m really not sure anymore.”
Marlon then drove off with Paddy leaving Rhona standing in shock by the side of the road.
But is it really over for the long-term couple?
