Emmerdale Caleb Milligan’s secret daughter exposed as sad family past explored

Emmerdale viewers were given more insight into the mystery surrounding Caleb Miligan’s secret daughter.

Up until now, there have only been a couple of references to a potential second child for Caleb and his wife Ruby Miligan, but nothing was ever confirmed. We’ve yet to meet Nicky Miligan’s sibling, who has rarely been mentioned.

However, the identity of this mysterious character was revealed on Tuesday night, along with hints of an impending arrival. It seems that the daughter in question is indeed the child of both Ruby and Caleb.

Ruby’s mother Helen made her first appearance on Tuesday, confronting Caleb about someone named Stephanie. Caleb quickly interrupted his mother-in-law, from whom he and Ruby have been estranged for years.

The episode shed light on why Ruby was separated from her family, following previous suggestions that they disapproved of Caleb. Caleb disclosed that Ruby had fallen pregnant, either with Nicky or Stephanie, and that Helen and her husband tried to force Ruby to terminate the pregnancy, reports the Mirror.

When Ruby refused, she was disowned by Helen and her father and forced to leave. Ruby and Caleb then started their new life together, welcoming their baby before having a second child.

Interestingly, Helen only mentioned Stephanie and not Nicky, implying something significant. Why is Stephanie missing from their lives and why is she never mentioned?

Helen appeared troubled when she quizzed Caleb about ‘Stephanie’, hinting at a rift, to which Caleb snapped: “Don’t you dare say my kids’ names.”

Caleb’s use of ‘kids’ instead of ‘kid’ indisputably reveals Nicky isn’t an only child, outing Stephanie as one of his offspring. This follows previous hints to former love interest Leyla Harding that he had more than one child, although it was uncertain then if he was fibbing.
