Emmerdale fans all issue same complaint as ‘evil’ killer returns to ITV soap
Fans of Emmerdale were uneasy when Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) made an unexpected return to the village following her 16 months away from the hit ITV show
Emmerdale’s long-serving character Kerry Wyatt made a return to the famous Yorkshire village.
Kerry, who was responsible for the blaze which killed Frank Clayton, returned to the Dales on Thursday night (March 7) as her actress Laura Norton had been on maternity leave. But not everyone was pleased to see the kiler.During her 16-month absence, Kerry worked on her pal’s cruise ship. She turned up in a police car wearing a Cher outfit, having been dropped off by PC Swirling.
Heading straight over to her daughter Amy, Kerry tried to repair their estranged relationship while explaining that she was accused of theft while working on the ships. But fans were not jumping for joy to see Kerry again, with many also highlighting her killer past.
One viewer took to X and said: “So evil Kerry, the murderer is back to irritate the bejesus out of us once more.” Another penned: “That’s all this programme needs-Kerry back!”.
A third said: “Killer Kerry returns. They (bosses) say oh Angelica has to pay for Heath’s death it’s only right but forget about Kerry & Amy killing Frank with no repercussions.”
While fourth fan of the ITV drama shared: “Jeez I actually can’t stand Kerry. Why in the hell did they bring her back. Horrible character.”
But despite the negativity, some were pleased to see Kerry back on their screens. One viewer said: “I love Kerry. So glad she’s back.”
Back in 2019, Kerry and Amy started a fire in the village sweet factory. The pair unknowingly started the blaze and destroyed CCTV equipment in the building to cover up that Kerry stole charity money from the safe, which they were using to help Amy pay off a debt to an old acquaintance.
When Frank, who is the father to Vanessa and Tracy, saw the blaze he went to find out what was going on. But he soon discovered that his daughter Tracy was inside and managed to save her.
Things were going to plan and Frank made another dash inside the burning building to retrieve an engagement ring. But a huge explosion took place, killing him as a result.
After the tragic moment took place, fans of the show were left fuming when Amy and Kerry managed to cover up their crime and ended up getting away with it. During Thursday’s episode, Kerry was back to her old ways as she did in fact steal money while working on the cruise ship, even though she insisted she didn’t.
