Emmerdale fans confused over hospital blunder after Chas wakes up from major surgery
Emmerdale fans were left scratching their heads as they watched Chas Dingle wake up in hospital after undergoing a double mastectomy following her breast cancer diagnosis
Emmerdale fans spotted something strange as Chas woke up from her surgery.
The Woolpack landlady was recently diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, the same type that killed her mother Faith (Sally Dexter). Chas then made the heartbreaking decision to undergo a double mastectomy.
The day of her surgery arrived during Thursday’s (March 14) hour-long episode of the ITV soap, with her family members gathered around her for support. As Chas went in for the op, Aaron (Danny Miller) couldn’t help but worry for his mum.
Speaking to Cain (Jeff Hordley), Aaron pointed out that Faith underwent the same operation, yet still died. Cain insisted that Chas would come out the other side as they both waited at the hospital for her to come out of surgery.
Towards the end of the episode, Aaron appeared to receive a text on his phone that notified him that his mum was out of surgery. “She’s out,” Aaron said after reading his phone.
Fans headed straight to social media to question who could have text Aaron that information. One wrote: “Just had major surgery and she texts Aaron to say she’s out now lol.”
“Who sodding text Aaron,” asked another viewer. A third confused fan penned: “Did the surgeon text Aaron to say she’s out of theatre??”
Someone else replied: “That’s what I wondered. Meanwhile another joked: “I have news…just received a text .. Chas is out of surgery!!”
Next week, Cain, Caleb (Will Ash) and Aaron prepare to open their cancer gene results. While Cain and Caleb learn they are in the clear, Aaron discovers he has inherited the faulty BRCA2 gene from his mum.
Seeing how relieved Chas is when she hears about Caleb and Cain’s results, Aaron lies to her and claims that he tested negative for the faulty gene. Continuing to hide his secret the following day, Aaron forces nonchalance when Chas expresses relief at the supposed results of his gene test once again.
