Emmerdale fans ‘solve’ how Tom will rumble baby lie after Belle’s crucial mistake

Emmerdale viewers think a scene gave away how Belle Dingle will be rumbled by Tom King after her abortion lie.

The character secretly terminated her pregnancy this week, deciding she could not go ahead with the pregnancy. Her abusive husband Tom King had put pressure on her to start a family, and wouldn’t hear her out when she suggested she was not ready.

As Tom continued to isolate and control her this week, Belle came to the decision she did not want to go through with having the baby. She made a secret visit to an abortion clinic earlier this week where she was given some tablets.

In the latest episode, she drove to the hospital and bought a parking ticket before waiting in the car. She then took the rest of the tablets and waited before calling Tom to meet her at home.

Belle timed it so that the parking ticket would back her story that she went to the hospital, and stayed there before returning home, wanting Tom to think she was seen by a doctor. As she returned home she broke down in tears as she told Tom she had suffered a miscarriage.

Tom fumed at her for going without him and not calling him, before he accused the hospital of being negligent. He began to point out issues with Belle’s story, and how she was sent home.

He wanted to speak to them, and was suggesting they had got it wrong. Of course Belle could not have Tom speaking to the doctor because it would expose the fact she had an abortion.

As Tom processed the information, Belle believed she’d stopped him taking things any further. But as he went out for a walk with their dog Piper, it was clear he was tracking her whereabouts.

Not only did he use the app he has to find out where she was in the day, he also checked the parking ticket to make sure Belle wasn’t lying. But what he didn’t see, and the mistake that could lead to Belle being exposed, was the parking ticket from the previous day on the floor of the car.

This ticket will reveal Belle’s true whereabouts the previous day, and it will also give away her abortion clinic visit. Fans think Tom will see this and work out the truth.

Taking to X, one fan posted: “Of course she left the parking ticket in the car”. Another said: “Oh my god if Tom finds that ticket,” as a third added: “Oh no not the old parking ticket on the floor mistake”.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
