Emmerdale fans ‘solve what Ruby’s mum was hiding’ before death as new arrival ‘sealed’

Emmerdale’s Ruby Miligan was fearful she would never find out what her dying mother wanted her to know before she passed away, but a comment from Helen may have teased it all

Emmerdale’s Ruby Miligan was left reeling after her mother Helen’s death on Wednesday night, but a twist could be on the way.

There was a lot of emphasis on the fact Helen needed to see Ruby before she passed, having something to say. In scenes on Tuesday, we saw Caleb Miligan meeting with Helen and refusing to tell wife Ruby her mum was dying.

Helen made it clear that what she had to tell her daughter would not be told to him, and she wanted to see Ruby and no one else. Sadly Ruby arrived on Wednesday after a call from the hospital, but she was too late.

Her mother had passed away before she got there meaning there was no goodbye, while Caleb has yet to confess the fact he’d seen her the day earlier. But something Ruby said a couple of times about her mother’s passing once again put focus on something Helen was hiding.

Ruby commented she would never know what it was that her mother wanted her to know, even saying this to her at the hospital after finding out she’d died. She also said to Caleb it would always bother her that she didn’t know what it was her mother wanted, and why she reached out now and not sooner.

Now, could Helen’s information she’d planned to tell Ruby have been revealed? In a scene on Tuesday, Helen said something that struck a chord with viewers for numerous reasons.

She asked if Caleb had seen anything of someone called Stephanie to which he snapped, and confirmed this was his daughter who we had never met onscreen. She’s barely mentioned, and Helen’s tone of voice suggested there was some distance there between Stephanie and her parents.

While we have no idea where she is or what happened, could there have been a reason why Helen was asking about her? Did Helen have some news about Stephanie that she needed to tell Ruby?

Fans now think Stephanie will debut very soon in the fallout to her grandmother’s death. One viewer posted: “You can guarantee she’ll be here anytime soon,” as another said: “Stephanie was mentioned by Ruby’s mum tonight, so probably not long until she turns up.”
