Emmerdale star Sammy Winward left fans in shock after she showed off her new dramatic hairdo.
The actress – who portrayed Katie Sugden – shared a selfie showcasing her blonde bob on Instagram.
She captioned the snap: ‘Finally got the chop after annoying everyone around me for weeks ✂️ Thanks to @oliviabennetthair 💜💜💜 #blondebob.
Fans were quick to comment their messages of admiration with several claiming that Sammy’s new look really suits her.
Actress Amy Walsh, who played Tracy Metcalfe on the soap replied: ‘Oooog love.’
Former Coronation star Kimberly Hart-Simpson (Nicky Wheatley) simply added: ‘Love.’
Sammy portrayed Katie for 14 years on Emmerdale, before the character was killed off in 2015.
On the possibility of a return, the actress told Inside Soap: ‘I get asked all the time when I’m coming back to Emmerdale, and I’m like, ‘I’m dead!’
‘I’m glad they killed Katie off – it meant it was more final for me. Now, I’m not always wondering if I should go back.’
‘When they told me, at the end of my time at Emmerdale, that Katie would be killed off, it made sense.
‘When I said to them that I wanted to leave, Katie and Andy were properly back together after all of that drama – and I don’t think she would have left him, unless she died.’
Sammy is a mum to 17-year-old Mia who she shares with her ex-fiancé and footballer David Dunn, 43.
