Emmerdale set for ‘incest twist’ as fans work out Caleb paternity affair mix-up

Emmerdale fans think Caleb Milligan is in for a shock amid his racy affair with married mum Tracy Robinson and the arrival of his estranged wife Ruby.

Last week, fans saw Caleb romping with Ruby on the sofa with her blonde hair falling over her face as Nate stormed in, sure he’d caught his boss cheating with his wife. But despite the striking similarity, Tracy had already fled and Ruby was in her place.

But that resemblance got fans thinking – that maybe Caleb is in for an unpleasant twist. There’s already been plenty of DNA twists for him, uncovering his relationship to the Dingles after being given up for adoption as a kid. Now fans have suggested Tracy could be his ‘secret daughter’, welcomed with Ruby in a tragic incest twist.

One Facebook user suggested: “Don’t you think Tracy looks like a younger version of Caleb’s wife? I can see a storyline developing here…” Another agreed: “They have the same hair colour. It was great when we all thought Caleb was with Tracy!”

While a viewer over on X posted: “Why do Ruby and Tracy look so alike in Emmerdale? She’s gonna be her secret mum of course!! Meaning Caleb is in for a horrid shock.”

It wouldn’t be the first time Emmerdale has featured an incest storyline, especially among the Dingles. Mandy Dingle married her own cousin Butch in the 90s, the son of her uncle Zak. Cain had a romance with his cousin Charity and welcomed Debbie together, and Charity slept with her other cousin Marlon in 2003.

But it would be the most disturbing incest twist, with the pair being daughter and father. Boss Jane Hudson has said in the past: “Soaps have covered a lot of different issues and genres and our job is to explore stories in different ways. We want to make stories relevant to now.”

Other fans have taken a different approach, and are instead sure that vet receptionist Ella – played by Coronation Street ’s Paula Lane – will turn out to be Caleb’s secret daughter. One Facebook user added: “I thought the girl who befriended Mandy might be Caleb’s daughter.”

While others claim she looks “so much like Gabby [Thomas”, with one Reddit user suggesting: “Gabby and Ella look so alike, could they be related?” as someone else said: “Ella looks so much like Gabby.”

 

Paula, who portrayed Kylie Platt on Corrie from 2010 to 2016, previously touched upon her character having a possible link to another village resident. The 37-year-old teased: “There’s no family ties that I’m aware of in the village but that can change.”

She told Daily Star: “I’m always a big believer in going with what’s put in front of you and the past seven years have been really exciting. I think when you are such a familiar face it’s nice to give the audience a bit of a breather and I feel like I’ve changed as well personally. It’s a good bit of time that has passed and I think it’s healthy.”
