Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) had some harsh words for partner Caleb Miligan (William Ash) in Friday’s (May 10) episode of Emmerdale following Nicky’s (Lewis Cope) car crash.
Yesterday, Nicky and Ethan Anderson (Emile John) spent the afternoon drinking at The Hide. Ethan was busy celebrating his new job, while Nicky was drowning his sorrows after Caleb had laughed in his face about a business plan.
When Nicky received a call from a worried Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), he panicked when his boyfriend said the men who attacked them last year were at the same bar he was in.
Nicky got up and prepared to race over there, but Ethan said he would drive as he had drunk less booze.
After Ethan crashed their car on a country road, he pulled Nicky from the passenger side, placed him on the floor and ran home.
Thankfully Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) found Nicky and called an ambulance, leaving Ethan to try and cover his tracks.
In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Ruby and Caleb spent the entire day in hospital. Nicky had emergency surgery yesterday after the doctors found a bleed on his brain, and is now in an induced coma to recover.
When Caleb walked through the ward with coffees, he overheard a staff member discussing the fact Nicky had alcohol in his system when the crash happened.
After updating Ruby, she concluded Nicky got drunk and then got behind the wheel to ‘drown out’ the things Caleb had been saying to him recently.
In a shocking moment, Ruby then told Caleb that if Nicky dies, it would be his fault.
As the argument continued, Ruby said that Nicky absolutely idolises Caleb and is ‘so desperate for a crumb of approval’ from his father, but all Caleb does is criticise him.
Caleb believed his comments were to help Nicky become more independent and stop him assuming his father ‘owed him a living’.
But as Ruby said, after everything Caleb forced Nicky to do surrounding Home Farm and Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), he absolutely owes his son something.
‘If he doesn’t make it through this, I will never forgive you’, Ruby stated.
‘I’ll never forgive myself’, Caleb responded.
