Emmerdale spoilers: Jimmy King destroys Bob Hope as he pushes devastating lie over Heath’s death
When Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) was killed in a car crash on New Year’s Eve in Emmerdale it was obviously devastating for his dad, Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw).
But compounding Bob’s grief is his belief that his daughter Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) was responsible for her brother’s death.
Cathy has protested ever since the accident that it wasn’t her who was driving at the time the car went off the road.
Cathy had stolen the car and had driven it away from the village, but it was Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes), who’d taken over driving because she and Heath were frustrated that Cathy was going too slowly and they were keen to get to a party in Hotten.
Although Angel denied this version of events when the police questioned her, after all the emotions of Heath’s funeral she broke down and admitted to her mum Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) that Cathy was telling the truth.
In upcoming episodes Nicola wants to talk to Jimmy (Nick Miles) about what’s next for the family now that Angel has confessed.
Jimmy, however, decides that his daughter should be protected at all costs and he continues to publicly blame Cathy for what happened to Heath to deflect attention away from Angel. He also tells Angel to lie again to the police, which makes Nicola feel uneasy.
Bob is still struggling massively over what happened and ignoring all of Cathy’s pleas that she’s telling the truth. The accident has ripped his entire family apart as he can’t forgive his daughter for killing his son.
When Jimmy sees how shattered Bob is he feels guilty over getting Angel to lie, and talks to Nicola about how he feels bad for Bob.
Overhearing this, Angel makes a massive decision and heads over to the B&B, finally ready to tell the truth.
How will Bob react when he not only discovers that Cathy has been telling the truth the whole time, but that Jimmy and Nicola have been lying to him and have made his family’s pain so much worse?
