Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) ended up back in Emmerdale after being accused of theft on the cruise ship.

While she vehemently denied committing any crime to anyone who asked, behind closed doors it was revealed she’d squirrelled away several wads of cash and a stash of expensive jewellery.

She went on to spend this money like water, claiming she’d had a compensation pay-out from the cruise company. She splashed out on designer shoes and bags, although was careful to tell those around her they were just really good fakes.

All the while, Kerry’s been plagued by irate messages from someone whose patience with her has run out. In typical Kerry style, she’s simply ignored them.

But it looks like it’s fast approaching crunch time for the former Cher impersonator as she’s forced to make a big decision.

She must part with her beloved diamond necklace.

Hinting at Kerry’s fate, actress Laura Norton told Metro.co.uk: ‘From her point of view, she just wants to have fun and live her life and be with a family. But I can tell she’s just in that mode where she’s just going to make a bad decision after bad decision after bad decision.’

So, whether that sale is for cashflow reasons or to further hide her crime before something worse happens remains to be seen. But if it’s the latter, and it likely is, has she left it too late to save her own bacon?

As Kerry’s story gathers pace in the ITV soap, Laura laments to Metro.co.uk over her return to the show. She spoke of her mixed emotions at coming back, having left to have two babies!

‘It’s been a mixture of emotions,’ she told us.

‘Just a real mixed bag of being excited to see everyone, excited to be back at work and doing what I love, and then the fear of being away from the children, and missing them and wanting to know what they’re doing every second of the day, because I’m obsessed with them!’ Thankfully she says they’re all getting into their ‘new routine now’ as we’re hoping Kerry isn’t going anywhere for a long while yet!
