Emmerdale spoilers: Marlon Dingle fears the worst as Rhona Goskirk goes missing in kidnap twist
There’s a terrible twist ahead for Rhona (Zoe Henry) in Emmerdale when, while in a world of pain, an opportunity arises that will mean sacrificing her family, and she takes it in a heartbeat.
It’s the moment they all feared, Gus (Alan McKenna) is back and ready to be a full-time dad to Ivy. Rhona is completely shattered at his return, having tried desperately to put him off, but now she solemnly watches on as he packs up the baby’s things and prepares to leave.
Marlon has been dreading this moment for a different reason as he can see how fragile his wife is and knows this is when she could truly break in half.
After his first full night as a dad again, Gus returns to see the couple and a desperate Rhona can’t wait to get her hands on the baby.
She’s rocked to hear how well Gus is coping and feels a further stab in the gut when Gus reveals he’s ready to find a permanent home for them.
In a bid to save his new little family, Marlon floats the idea that they all co-parent, but Gus shoots this idea down in seconds when he shares his second bit of big news – he’s moving with Ivy to France.
The next day he returns once again, this time out of utter guilt at dropping such huge news. He wants to give Rhona and Marlon time to say their goodbyes, but it proves to be a huge mistake.
Rhona is at rock bottom and feeling like she has nothing left to lose, makes a life-altering decision – she packs up Ivy’s things and goes on the run.
Marlon returns home to find his wife, the baby, and both of their belongings missing, and immediately knows what Rhona has done.
He reveals what’s happened to Mary and the two begin the terrifying task of trying to find her, but they both know she doesn’t want to be found.
