Emmerdale star confirms twists in Ruby Fox-Miligan’s plot to bring down Kim Tate

Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly has captured fans hearts with her portrayal of the hilarious and scheming Ruby Fox-Miligan, though she admits that the character may have taken on more than she can handle when it comes to her plot to bring down Kim Tate (Claire King).

Recent scenes have seen Ruby pull Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) into her scheme, demanding that she seduce ex Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) in order to drive a wedge between him and Kim.

Unfortunately for Ruby, Rose’s attempts have so far proved fruitless. Recent scenes saw her attempt to kiss Will, though he was quick to pull away, insisting that nothing was going to happen between them.

Kim is a very dangerous woman indeed, so Ruby and Rose are playing with fire when it comes to their plot – something that actress Beth recognised in our chat at the Radio Times Soap Awards.

‘Kim’s probably got a bit more experience than Ruby!’ She laughed, adding: ‘I don’t think it’s going to be a very easy thing to do!’

Fortunately for viewers, there is still plenty more drama ahead, as Beth teased.

‘It is very dramatic! And it was a lot of fun to film. I felt really privileged to be involved in filming it.’

Recently, pictures were released of Ruby being carried from a burning barn by newcomer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). Could this be the climax of her feud with Kim – or will she get under someone else’s skin before then?

Ever since her arrival in the Emmerdale village, Ruby has caused quite a stir. From uncovering Tracy Shankley’s (Amy Walsh) affair with Caleb Miligan (William Ash) and her feud with Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb), to running over Ethan Anderson (Emile John) in a hit and run, Ruby has been permanently up to no good – and fans have loved it.

Speaking about the reaction she’s had to the character, Beth said: ‘It’s brilliant!

‘It’s such a fantastic show to work on, I’m absolutely having a ball. She’s a nuts character but she’s really fun to play.’
