Emmerdale viewers call out glaring blunders as fan favourite dealt pregnancy bombshell
Belle Dingle received the shock of a lifetime this Monday evening as she was told she was pregnant. But some viewers called out a continuity blunder as they commented the news.
Pregnancy news reached Emmerdale this Monday (June 10, 2024) as Belle Dingle was told she was expecting a baby but with her abusive husband nearby, tragedy may be ahead.
The soap favourite portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper visited the GP surgery in tonight’s trip to the Dales and was told by nurse Wendy Posner (played by Susan Cookson) that she was pregnant.
However, after a brief discussion with the wedding planner, Wendy sensed that this was nothing to be celebrated and began to probe her on her relationship with Tom King (James Chase).
Belle, who has been relentlessly tormented by the vet since they first rekindled their relationship after Tom’s return to the eponymous village from Saudi Arabia, kept quiet and dodged Wendy’s questions. Meanwhile, soap viewers had a lot to say on X.

Many fans of the Yorkshire-based program fear that death could be looming on the horizon with one penning: “Belle is pregnant and doubt she will keep the baby Tom don’t deserve Belle and a baby !!” Another added: “Oh dear, Belle is pregnant by the ‘He Devil'”, while a third echoed: “Wait belles pregnant NOOOOOO.”
A fourth lamented: “Bloody hell Belle. The chance to get out was when you weren’t pregnant. This ties her to Tom even more because when he finds out, he’ll be blabbing to anyone who’ll listen.” After finding out she was pregnant, Belle made the decision to keep the unborn baby a secret from her husband but soap watchers were more concerned by nurse Wendy’s qualifications while others pointed out that Belle was punched by Tom several weeks ago, meaning her baby could be in danger.
“A few weeks ago didn’t Tom Punch Belle in the stomach ?? Wouldn’t she have been pregnant then ??”, one viewer commented. Another wrote: “I don’t know what’s worse. Being pregnant with the spawn of Tom or being told that you are pregnant with the spawn of Tom by Wendy. Poor Belle.” One soap fan quipped: “Belle getting the bad news that she’s pregnant from Fake Nurse Wendy!”
As mentioned, Tom has been bullying Belle for several months and even went as far as to gaslight her when she tried to seek medical help for her mental health.
In scenes airing next week on our screens, Tom is over the moon when he finds out that Belle is pregnant and soon, the eager father-to-be lets the word slip during a conversation with Rhona and it’s not long before the word spreads.
Sadly, danger is looming as he heads out and locks Belle and her dog Piper in Dale Head, as part of his coercively controlling behaviour. Belle and Piper nap upstairs… while a fire breaks out in the kitchen and a tea cloth is set ablaze. Will Belle and Piper make it out alive?
