Emmerdale’s Charley Webb looks downcast as Matthew Wolfenden claims she ended marriage

Emmerdale’s Charley Webb has been spotted looking downcast after ex Matthew Wolfenden claimed she ended their marriage.

The 35-year-old Debbie Dingle actress cut a casual figure wearing a pair if blue denim baggy jeans, a grey jumper and a black jacket as she was pictured leaving the shop with carrying some groceries.

She styled her hair in a bun and opted to go makeup-free as she run some errands after Matthew took to social media to make fresh claims about why relationship ended after 16 years.A statement from the couple was posted on their social media accounts in November confirming their split. It read: “t is with love and respect that Matthew and I have decided to separate. We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children. For their sake we would appreciate privacy at this time.”

Matthew, who played David Metcalfe in Emmerdale, has since slammed trolls and explained he had been bombarded with “horrible” messages, as well as receiving abuse from people on the street after he was spotted with a “new girlfriend” following his split from his wife.

Matthew has recently been pictured with personal trainer Heather Scott-Martin. He has now taken to Instagram to take the trolls to task and insist that it wasn’t his “decision to end my marriage”. The actor told fans that he was not only targeted online but was approached in the street by people who were unhappy that he was seen with another woman after his relationship with Charley came to an end.

Writing on his Instagram Stories, Matthew wrote: “Just to set the record straight once and for all… and hopefully this will be the end of it, and the end of me getting horrible messages on socials, and people saying nasty stuff to me in the street.

“1: It was NOT my decision to end my marriage. 2: I met Heather (who I was pictured with in London) way after my marriage ended. Hope this clears stuff up for all the trolls out there.” Matthew did not stop there as he came back with another post in which he spoke about the relationship he now has with his estranged wife, who is the mother of his three children.

Addressing this situation, the soap star added: “Oh, and… 3: (and most importantly) Charley and I are still good friends. Our kids are our life and always will be.” This comes after Matthew had been the subject of rumours that he had been “cheating” on Charley, which led to the actor to speak out previously on the claims, which he said were “an out and out lie”.

Matthew wrote on Instagram: “Just to set the record straight… This (so called) reporting is an out and out LIE! Can you leave us alone now?
