EMMERFAIL Emmerdale fans demand egg-stealing kidnapping plot is axed after controversial twist
The plot also allowed for the re-introduction of one popular Emmerdale character
FURIOUS Emmerdale viewers have been left demanding that one of the show’s most controversial storylines ever is axed immediately.
The ITV programme has explored the explosive egg-stealing plot with Rhona Goskirk and her ex-husband Gus.
Rhona was initially left stunned to discover that Gus and his wife Lucy, who could not conceive naturally, had stolen an old frozen embryo that Gus and Rhona had from during their marriage.
It resulted in Lucy being pregnant with the biological daughter of Rhona and Gus.
The news left Rhona floored when she learned that their would be a child of hers in the world unexpectedly.
In a cruel twist of fate, Lucy died during childbirth leaving Ivy ‘motherless’.
Struggling to cope in the immediate aftermath, Gus latched onto Rhona and her family to help support him and bring up baby Ivy.
He eventually let Rhona look after her full-time for a few weeks while he worked on himself before taking Ivy back in.
However, Rhona saw Ivy as her own daughter despite having no legal connection and soon fled and ‘kidnapped’ Ivy.
It led to Gus phoning the police and having her arrested for taking her away but fans aren’t happy with the way the story is going.
They have called for the plot to be axed entirely and have fumed about how “absurd” the story is.
Slamming the show online, one fan wrote: “Another absolutely absurd plot
“The original team (if still around) must be embarrassed at the juvenille level of writing these days
“It was almost as if it was created just to bring Vanessa back.”
Another echoed the thoughts by replying: “Was thinking the same thing.”
Before a third said: “The whole storyline though has been absolute garbage.”
Rhona took drastic action last week after her ex Gus said he wanted to take his daughter back so he could move to France.
Rhona ran away with the tot before calling Vanessa Woodfield in Canada and asking her to come back and help her.
