EMMERDALE’S Jimmy King has launched a vile plot to frame Cathy Hope of killing her own twin brother.
The businessman – who is played by actor Nick Miles in the ITV soap – was horrified last week to discover daughter Angel was driving the car at the time of the crash that killed Heath Hope.
But tonight he saw how devastated Heath’s dad Bob was and how he was struggling to cope with the realisation that daughter Cathy was responsible.
Viewers know Cathy has been maintaining her innocence.
And tonight Jimmy decided to stop Angel from putting Bob and Cathy out of their misery – by framing the youngster for Heath’s death.
Jimmy began to coach his daughter through the lies she would need to tell to convince the police that Cathy was driving.
Nicola tried to stop him, saying: “The police aren’t idiots. This could turn out even worse.”
But Jimmy insisted that Angel faced three years in prison for a mistake – saying it wouldn’t bring Heath back.
Nicola told him: “I hear you but if it’s not Angel then it’s Cathy and you’re sending her to prison instead.
“Jimmy, listen to me. You’re telling me to lie on top of everything else. The guilt you felt when you killed Paul, you know better than anyone.
“You nearly had a breakdown. And Angel’s a child – even more vulnerable and confused.
“We will support her through it and it will be heartbreaking and awful. But…”
Jimmy replied: “No buts. Our children mean everything to us, that’s what we’ve always agreed.
“And we will do anything to protect them from harm.”
But does that include framing Cathy for the killing of her own twin brother?
