EMMERFAIL Shock proposal rocks Emmerdale as bride to be is forced into accepting
THE couple are taken aback by the shock development
EMMERDALE will be rocked by a shock proposal next week – and it won’t be a welcome surprise.
The village’s GP Manpreet Sharma is set to be stunned when Vicar partner Charles Anderson gets down on one knee.
In new spoilers revealed by the soap, the up until now happy pair are thrown into crisis by Charles’ meddling mother Claudette.
With a new Bishop coming in, Claudette unsubtly suggests Manpreet and Charles would make a better impression on them if they were married.
And in a shock turn, Charles decides that instead of getting married, he just lies to his new boss instead.
He ends up implying to the Bishop that they do have plans to get wed – which is very much news to Manpreet.
Later that week, having plucked up the courage to follow through on his lies, Charles proposes.
And things take a bizarre turn in the Woolpack.
As a bewildered Manpreet feels pressured to say yes, an eager barmaid Gail announces the good news to the rest of the pub leaving the couple stunned.
Will Manpreet agree to marry Charles? Or will she get cold feet yet again and leave him?
Meanwhile Manpreet was seen last month becoming suspicious of newcomer Ella having offered her a job in the surgery.
Ella quickly set her sights on Liam Cavanagh forcing Manpreet to try to put a stop to it.
And fans are convinced Ella has a secret link to Manpreet’s serial killer sister Meena Jutla.
