After letting her pal Cathy Hope take the fall, the teen girl portrayed by Rebecca Bakes admitted she was responsible all along for their joyride gone wrong.

Regular soap watchers will remember that Cathy (played by Gabrielle Dowling) came up with the idea of stealing Wendy Posner’s car to drive to a New Year’s Eve Party in Hotten.

This plan tragically backfired as Cathy, her brother Heath and Angelica were involved in a crash that cost the lad’s life.

In the aftermath of Heath’s demise, Cathy told the authorities that Angelica had taken the wheel of Wendy Posner’s stolen car.

Angelica refused to admit the truth but she was unable to keep quiet and she blurted everything out to her mother Nicola during Heath’s funeral.

Tensions have been at an all-time high since she confessed as Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) found out Angel’s parents, were ready to make her lie to stop her from going to prison.

However, secrets rarely stay hidden in the ITV Dales and Angelica faces the music next week.

It all begins when Angelica prepares to return to school for the first time since the accident that led to Heath Hope’s death.

Jimmy King (Nick Miles) apologises to Bob who vows they will never be friends again.

In other scenes, Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) listens to Bob rant about Jimmy and urges him to put an end to this, for his daughter Cathy’s sake.

Jimmy and Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) are left anxious by mention of a home visit from the Youth Justice Service.

Later, Nicola’s shocked when Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) refuses to give a character reference for Angelica.

He’s appalled when Nicola brings up her past with his daughter Naomi Walters, who took part in brutally mugging her in 2022.

Nicola dreads the day, as the Youth Justice visit looms – will Rachel, the Youth Justice Worker be impressed?

While this remains to be seen, Jimmy, Nicola and Angel are all left apprehensive by what lies ahead.

How will Angelica cope with the consequences of her actions?

Will Bob ever forgive the Kings?

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
