EMMERWAIL Emmerdale’s Nicola King gets devastating news about killer daughter Angelica

She's facing a long slog after killing Heath Hope

EMMERDALE’S Nicola King has received some horrifying news about killer daughter Angelica.

The businesswoman – who is played by actress Nicola Wheeler in the ITV soap – has deluded herself into thinking Angelica will just get a slap on the wrist for causing Heath Hope’s death during a car crash.

But tonight she got a short sharp shock and a dose of reality.

Nicola and Jimmy spotted Bob opening up the B&B and tried to speak to him but he knocked them back.

He told them he was only opening up so he could raise the money to buy them out so he never had to work with them again.

Later in the cafe, Nicola was worrying about the court case and how Angelica wouldn’t be able to put her side in court.

Instead the court would order a pre-sentencing report with everyone in her life spoken to – which Nicola hoped would mean Angelica could avoid a custodial sentence.

She said: “Let’s face it anyone with any common sense can see that she’s a decent kid that just made a terrible mistake.

“It’s hardly like she’s a danger to society, and someone that they’re going to be in a rush to lock up.”

But noticing Ethan’s reaction, Nicola realised he had a different view.

She said: “What? You don’t agree? If you know differently you need to tell me.”

Ethan told her: “Look Nicola, you should speak to your own solicitor about this, there may be some extenuating circumstances that I’m just not aware of.

“Angelica’s pleaded guilty to death by dangerous driving. It’s an incredibly serious charge.”

As Nicola insisted community service would be suitable for her daughter killing Heath Hope, Ethan asked if their solicitor had told them about the likelihood of a prison sentence.

She insisted it was just mentioned as a remote possibility, but Ethan put her straight.

“It’s not a worse case scenario,” he said.

“Angelica’s admitting to killing someone, the judge will have no choice but to give her a custodial sentence.”

Later Nicola and Jimmy had a breakdown over Angelica’s likely prison sentence.
