EMMERDALE’S Nicola King has been given devastating news about daughter Angelica.
The former councillor – who is played by actress Nicola Wheeler in the ITV soap – has been struggling with the realisation that her daughter killed her friend Heath Hope during a joy ride.
In tonight’s episode Nicola was determined to give Angelica memories to hold onto while she is in prison.
She managed to get tickets for the family for a pop gig that Angelica was desperate to attend.
But with her and Jimmy deciding the family needed a technology-free day, they left their phones at home and headed to the concert.
On arrival they realised the tickets were on Nicola’s phone and her Karen-like behaviour failed to get them in.
Instead they ended up listening from the carpark and dancing around together in sweet scenes.
As the family returned home from their failed but fun gig, Angelica hugged her mum and told her: “Thanks for today, I love you.”
Nicola was stunned, telling Jimmy once the kids went upstairs: “Did you see that? I got a hug, voluntarily…”
But as Nicola spoke, her phone beeped with a voicemail and she went to read it.
And as Jimmy wittered on about their carpark gig, Nicola’s face fell.
Sitting down in shock she said: “They’ve set a date for Angelica’s sentencing hearing. It’s 13th of March.”
Jimmy immediately told her they had to come clean: “We have to tell her, we can’t put it off, she has to know.”
But Nicola argued against telling her, saying: Let her have today at least Jimmy.
“Please Jimmy. We’ll tell her tomorrow. I thought we had more time.”
