Emmerdale viewers will see a major change to the ITV soap during Tuesday night's episode, with a specially formatted episode amid horror for Belle Dingle
Emmerdale’s next episode will look slightly different to the usual format, with viewers given a behind-closed-doors glimpse of Belle Dingle and Tom King’s marriage.
There’s horrifying scenes ahead for Belle, as Tom turns on her and threatens her for the first time, in scenes that will air on Tuesday night after weeks of controlling behaviour. A dinner party featuring four couples, hosted by Tom and Belle, results in chaos and secrets coming to light.
Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk’s marriage falls apart in front of everyone, while the other guests all soon decide to leave. But what they don’t know is that they’re leaving Belle in danger after Tom’s behaviour escalates.
As Belle finds her marriage is strained and Tom is becoming more controlling, she continues to hide from him that she’s still on the contraceptive pill. Tom is trying to pressure her into starting a family when Belle has already said she isn’t ready.
Back to the episode, and as Marlon and Rhona clash they air their issues out publicly. As Rhona seemingly calls time on her marriage and ends up deciding to leave, the signs of what is going on with Belle and Tom are hidden.

But the viewers will see it all though, from the moment he forces Belle to change her outfit to him making a discovery in the kitchen, and preparing to confront her. But as the guests arrive he’s stopped in his tracks, with him instead following her to the bathroom later on to get answers.
Tom threatens Belle in difficult scenes, and he refuses to let her out of his sight in the fallout. As the guests start to leave the house, Belle is desperate not to be left alone with Tom, but her fears are confirmed when it’s just them left.
Spoilers reveal that it’s in that moment we see the terrifying reality of Belle’s life with the menacing Tom, but how far will he go and will Belle be left in danger? The pair aren’t mentioned in the next episode set to air on Wednesday in regards to spoilers, while it’s likely they will appear.
Tom has been coercively controlling his wife for months, belittling and manipulating her, while also isolating her from her loved ones. Bosses have confirmed Tom will soon turn violent towards Belle, with fans desperate for the character to be found out.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
