ITV Emmerdale fans ‘rumble’ who will save Belle from vile Tom as abuse escalates
Emmerdale's coercive control storyline involving Belle Dingle and Tom King is about to escalate with him turning violent, but fans think they know which character will help Belle
Emmerdale fans think one character will help Belle Dingle, and save her from her abusive marriage to Tom King.
The ITV soap recently confirmed a coercive control storyline for the couple, with Tom seen manipulating and isolating his wife. But in recent episodes his behaviour has grown darker, with him lashing out and trashing their house, as well as stalking Belle.
This week he was seen raging over Belle spending time with her pal Vinny Dingle, and when he was unable to track her or watch her through the camera he set up, he fled home in anger. He was ready to rage at his wife only for her not to be home, while who knows what would have happened if she was.
Soap producer Laura Shaw recently confirmed Tom’s abuse will turn physical, with him likely being violent towards Belle. But amid him targeting Vinny and even attacking him, wanting to break him and Belle apart, fans believe they’ve worked out what will happen.
Viewers believe Vinny is on the cusp of working out Tom’s behaviour, and the fact he’s stalking and abusing wife Belle. With Vinny going nowhere and close to Belle, might he realise what she is secretly going through, and might Tom accidentally expose his behaviour?

With them being close, Belle may perhaps confide in her close friend about what’s going on, while some fans are convinced Belle and Vinny “belong together”. Will Belle grow closer to Vinny and could there be feelings there for both of them amid her doomed marriage to Tom?
Viewers certainly think so, with one writing: “Can Tom get found out sharpish? Then Belle can eventually move on and be with Vinny like she always should’ve been.” Another fan posted: “I think Vinny will end up being Belle’s Knight in shining armour and save her from that monster.”
A third can commented: “All I want is for Vinny and Belle to live happily ever after,” while a fourth fan said: “Belle and Vinny would be a good couple.” A fifth viewer agreed: “Belle and Vinny should be together,” as another added: “Belle and Vinny should have been together to start with!”
