ITV Emmerdale fans ‘solve’ Tom King’s downfall in Belle Dingle twist after camera scene

Emmerdale viewers are speculating the downfall of Tom King is imminent, as he continued to target Belle Dingle and Vinny Dingle on the ITV soap this week

Emmerdale fans are wondering if a scene in the latest episode gave away Tom King’s looming downfall.

The villain carried on targeting wife Belle Dingle and her pal Vinny Dingle in the latest episode of the ITV soap, amid a coercive control storyline on the show. But something Tom pushed forward with in his attempts to control wife Belle might lead to his downfall, while a recent lie could also give the game away.

A recent faked break-in at the house saw Tom claim he had reported the theft to the police, when he had not. He told Belle the officers said there wasn’t much that could be done, and they might not find out who did it.

He knew full well he had trashed the house in anger at Belle for staying out with her work pals, after she’d lied to him about working late. She has no idea he is tracking her on an app on her phone, while he also installed a camera “for the puppy” to watch her when she is at home.

Tom also attacked Vinny recently and left him for dead, after Vinny came close to the truth about him spying on Belle. Since then, Tom has remained undetected and has been taunting Vinny, belittling him while also trying to stop the pair spending any time together without him there.

Belle was awkward this week when Tom asked her about turning the puppy camera off, before he suggested Vinny’s attacker could be the same person who trashed the house. Trying to scare her once more into feeling unsafe in her own home, Tom suggested they needed to install cameras in the house, which she was not keen on.

But Tom managed to manipulate her into agreeing with him, using the fact the police were doing nothing about the break-in, and Vinny’s attack, as reasons. On Tuesday, Belle commented that the company were heading to the house that day to install the new security cameras.

With Tom once again bringing up the fact there had been no news with the police and the case had gone cold, fans wondered whether he would finally let slip his own guilt. Given he still has Belle’s rings somewhere after taking them, some fans wondered if these would pop up in Tom’s possession – so might he accidentally reveal them on camera and forget he is being recorded?

Might Tom be exposed for his behaviour another way on the cameras, perhaps when he’s stalking Belle or if he turns violent with her as reported? Then there’s the fact that at any point, Belle could go to the police about the break-in and demand more be done, only to learn Tom hasn’t actually been to them at all.

Questioning this latter theory, one viewer posted on X: “I hope Belle gets a chance to talk to the police alone no tetchy Tom there then finds it not even reported the crime.” Will this lead to Tom’s lies unravelling, and might she figure out he caused it?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
