ITV Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ death twist for icon after 38 years on soap

Emmerdale viewers have been left worrying for one of their favourite characters after troubling scenes on the hit ITV soap this week.

Only recently, Amit Sharma attempted to fleece Eric Pollard of his money but thankfully Eric was only too aware of the evil scheme, teaming up with Rodney Blackstock and Vinny Dingle in recent episodes to investigate his dodgy activity.

On Monday night, it was revealed that Amit’s plan to fleece Pollard of his money was actually part of a bigger plan as he needed money to pay back a mysterious lady called Dee, who popped by the village to warn him she wanted her cash back.

Little is known about Dee and how dangerous she is, but fans will likely be less than concerned about Amit as he was the one who shockingly killed his brother Rishi, leading to an exit from the soap for actor Bhasker Patel. On Tuesday night, Vinny managed to swipe Amit’s keys with Eric heading to Holdgate to look for any evidence to bring the scheming businessman down.

Upon entering Holdgate, Pollard was chilled to walk past the spot where Rishi died as he searched the property for clues. However, in true soap style, at the same Amit clocked onto his keys being missing and became suspicious of Vinny as he quickly headed home suspecting he was being played.

After trying to ring an oblivious Pollard as he rifled through Amit’s belongings, he finally answered in time to a panicked call off Vinny warning him to get out. Just as Pollard attempted to leave, he bumped into a furious Amit who soon showed his violent side.

Thankfully, the duo were interrupted by an innocent Jai Sharma. After Amit started questioning why Pollard was in their property, the latter decided to be open, pleading with Jai to believe his suspicions about Amit. However, Pollard was soon left defeated when Jai dismissed him and instead believed Amit. Later, Pollard and Vinny shared their fears about potentially provoking a murderer as they pointed out Amit’s involvement in Rishi’s death.

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers have been left fearing for Pollard, especially as Amit was capable of murdering his own brother. Taking to social media, one person said: “Eric is next on Amits list so I read, so Eric better watch out”, a different account feared: “He’ll push him down the stairs given half the chance”, another wrote: “Amit obviously will kill to get what he wants” while a different account added: “Be careful Eric x.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITV X, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
