ITV Emmerdale fans work out heartbreaking exit for Belle Dingle after terrifying Tom King twist

Emmerdale fans saw Belle Dingle and Tom King finally tie the knot today but there is no doubt trouble ahead for the fan favourite in a terrifying twist as Tom has shown his controlling behaviour

Emmerdale fans have worked out a harrowing twist with Belle Dingle after she married Tom King tonight.

There had been much talk about the wedding maybe not even going ahead when Tom and Belle fell out over her decision to have a memory of her mum at the wedding. Whilst she asked Tom if he wanted to do the same, he was not keen.

However, eventually, the pair decided they did want to go through with the wedding and tonight, they finally got to say ‘I do’ in front of their family and friends, followed by a special reception to mark the occasion.

Whilst Tom and Belle are no doubt hoping the rest of their lives will be wedded bliss, fans have grown concerned for Belle and are convinced things could end in the most heartbreaking way for the fan favourite.

One fan wrote: “now that Tom has told Belle how he really feels about their wedding will she finally get that she’s made a huge mistake marrying him? this is the tip of the iceberg, the calm before the storm. #Emmerdale,” whilst a second added: “Tom is deffo gonna abuse and restrict Belle from seeing her family #Emmerdale @emmerdale.” A third shared: “Belle needs to run while she can Tom is definitely gonna get progressively worse with her now ! #emmerdale.”

James Chase – who plays Tom on the ITV soap – admits Tom’s worrying behaviour initially comes from a place of insecurity. He said: “I think Tom is one of those guys that just when he gets in a relationship he puts all his eggs in one basket. And he’s done that with Belle as he loves her so much, and married her within a few months of being together.

“I think he so afraid of losing her and that is partly why he is so insecure and I think partly why he acts in such a controlling way. Because he thinks that is how he will keep her. He loves Belle and prefers them just to be together and exclude everyone else. I think Tom would love to have got married just the two of them on an Hawaiian island!”

Asked if his character could turn out to be like his dad, he said: “I don’t want to say too much but they made it clear when I joined what route the story would take. But I think that is what makes the role so much more interesting and complex. You want to play complex characters, don’t you? He was a murderer. It would be fun. Everybody loves a villain!”

Belle actress Eden Taylor-Draper also added: “We have witnessed his controlling behaviour but I think Belle herself is just turning a blind eye to all that at the moment under the assumption he’s just doing it all out of love.”
