Emmerdale viewers think they have figured out a new explosive affair storyline on the hit ITV soap after spotting a telling clue during Friday’s episode

Emmerdale fans are convinced they have rumbled a new explosive affair storyline after spotting a telling clue.

Only recently, Caleb Milligan’s estranged wife and son Nicky’s mum Ruby Fox-Miligan showed up in the village. Soap fans will recall that prior to her arrival, Caleb and Tracy Metcalfe embarked in a shock affair despite the latter being newly married to Nate Robinson, whose uncle is Caleb. On Christmas Day, the duo were rumbled by a shocked Moira Dingle, who ordered Caleb to end his relationship with Tracy.

After being rumbled, Caleb put an end to their affair, leaving Tracy both devastated and humiliated. Later, Tracy decided to get revenge by blackmailing Caleb into supporting her nursery project or she would tell his brother Cain Dingle. However, despite appearing to be at loggerheads with their affair over, the two couldn’t resist each other as they embarked on their affair once again last month.

Earlier this week, Tracy decided to tell Nate that she no longer loves him but denied she was having an affair, leaving the latter both heartbroken and furious over the bombshell. After seeing an upset Nate, Caleb offered him a place to stay and Ruby has been left suspicious over his split, suspecting cheating.

On Wednesday’s episode, Ruby spotted Tracy and Moira talking, where she managed to trick Moira into revealing Tracy had cheated although she didn’t confess with who. Later, Ruby decided to grill Nicky, who also knows about the affair. Ruby said: “Is your father having an affair with Tracy?” to which Nicky lied, shutting down the accusation.

On Friday’s episode, Ruby treated Nate to some drinks at the pub, where she kept showering him with compliments, calling him gorgeous and even suggesting she would pursue him if she wasn’t trying to get back with Caleb. In upcoming scenes next week, Ruby exposes Tracy and Caleb’s affair and fans think she may pursue a romance with Nate as revenge.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “They are going to have Ruby and Nate have an affair next aren’t they?”, a different account put: “They’re so going to go there with Nate and Ruby #emmerdale”, another fan wrote: “I’d love it if Ruby made a play for Nate #emmerdale” while another added: “Nate to get with Ruby or Ella? #Emmerdale @emmerdale.”
