ITV Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ real mum of Caleb’s daughter in Ruby DNA twist

Emmerdale viewers are convinced they have already worked out the identity of Caleb’s daughter Stephanie’s biological mother – and they think it’s not Ruby Fox-Milligan

Emmerdale fans are convinced that Ruby Fox-Miligan might not actually be the biological mum of Caleb Milligan’s daughter, Stephanie.

The Dales have been buzzing since it was revealed this week that Caleb (played by Will Ash) has a daughter named Stephanie. Viewers were already clued into the fact that Caleb and Ruby have a son, Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope), who’s left the village with his beau.

But the plot thickened when Caleb visited his mother-in-law Helen (Sharon Maughan) in hospital, who’s been estranged from her daughter Ruby (Beth Cordingly) for yonks due to her disapproval of Caleb. During the visit, Helen dropped the name ‘Stephanie’, which got under Caleb’s skin, prompting him to lash out: “Don’t you dare say my kids’ names,” before doing one out of there.

Sadly, Helen kicked the bucket later, with Ruby turning up at the hospital just 20 minutes post-mortem. In Thursday’s episode (September 19), Stephanie’s name popped up again when Ruby made a heart-wrenching confession about where Stephanie is, dropping hints of a tragic twist. Ruby expressed her insecurities about being a mum and pondered if things would’ve been different had her own mum been around, reports Leeds Live.

Viewers are buzzing with speculation about a major DNA plot twist on the soap. The theory mills are running wild online, with one fan propositioning: “Oooooh I wonder if Caleb got Ruby’s mum pregnant and the child was his?”

Another joined the sleuthing, posting on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page: “I wonder if Caleb’s the father and maybe him and Ruby’s mum were having an affair lol (anything is possible in soapy land).”

And another added, echoing similar thoughts: “I was thinking this, I wouldn’t put it past the writers.” But that’s not all – there’s chatter that Stephanie could waltz onto our screens any moment now. Predictions are swirling around Helen’s funeral as the potential venue for her entrance.

“Steph will probably be at the funeral and see Caleb and Ruby,” assumed one viewer. Another eagerly shared their anticipation: “Well that’s Caleb’s daughter making her first appearance at the funeral then.” And yet another anticipated: “Probably how she arrives.”
