ITV Emmerdale split ‘sealed’ as one character makes huge relationship mistake

Emmerdale is set for explosive scenes next week as one couple could face a devastating split after one character makes a big mistake amid a troubling time

Emmerdale could be airing a devastating split next week on the hit ITV soap.

Charity Dingle is in the midst of a huge storyline at the moment after she stabbed Mackenzie Boyd in the night as she continues to struggle with her mental health following the altercation she had with Harry at Christmas, which ended up in Harry’s death.

Charity has been finding it difficult to cope with all that’s going on, and as a result, has been struggling with sleep deprivation. Mack was rushed to the hospital but last week viewers found out he would be ok and Charity was released from police custody although refused anyone’s help.

After a heart-to-heart with Cain Dingle, Charity agreed to seek some counselling and in upcoming scenes the character goes through with her sessions. During a therapy session, Charity faces up to her abandonment issues in a breakthrough movement.

Later that night, a tortured Charity ignores Mack’s babbling and leaves the house, clearly in a state of torment following her traumatic few weeks. Later, Mack is left confused when he comes downstairs to find Charity has gone. It’s not long until Mack quickly realises he made a mistake by refusing to give his wife the space she asked for.

Mack then heads out in search of Charity and finally finds her car broken down at the side of a country road. This forces the two characters to have a heart-to-heart but can they get over this huge hurdle or does Charity have other ideas for their relationship?

It comes as Lawrence Robb and Emma Atkins, who play Mack and Charity, opened up about their future on the soap, as well as the future for their characters’ romance too. Lawrence, who plays Mack, told The Mirror and other press: “I hope [they don’t split up.]

“But as always it’s Emmerdale and drama happens. Working with Emma and the family that Charity and the Dingles have is great. I think it might build and cement their relationship further is what I think and hope for. I hope things will come to fruition but time will tell.”

Asked what she thought might happen for the pair, Emma – who plays Charity – is hopeful they could make it work in the future, despite her character’s own struggles and what happened between them.
