ITV Emmerdale viewers left divided as Rhona is arrested for kidnap of baby Ivy

Emmerdale fans were left divided after Rhona Goskirk was arrested for kidnap in heartbreaking scenes tonight for taking baby Ivy from her father Gus

Emmerdale viewers all said the same thing as Rhona Goskirk was arrested for kidnap tonight.

Rhona has been struggling with the news that her ex wants to take baby Ivy – who is born from the embryo that Gus and Rhona froze several years ago – to France after the death of his wife Lucy. She has been adamant she didn’t want them to go away, and tonight, she asked her friend Vanessa to help her move to Canada with the baby.

However, Vanessa told her it wasn’t a good idea and encouraged her to stay in the UK and face what was coming to her. Mary and Marlon managed to convince Gus to give them a couple more hours to find Rhona. Vanessa tried to get a signal to call Marlon about all that’s going on, but couldn’t reach him at first to tell him their location.

Eventually, she managed to get through to speak to Marlon and him and Mary managed to convince Gus not to call the police and that Marlon just needed a chance to talk to Rhona. When he headed over, he managed to stop her just before she made plans to leave with little Ivy. Though she was initially adamant that this was the only option, she understood how her actions had taken a turn.

However, just as she came to the realisation, Gus and the police arrived and Rhona was arrested for kidnap. Fans were left divided over the scenes and took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the whole storyline.

One wrote: “I am just livid with what happened tonight. That man Gus is the only one who should be arrested for stealing Rhona’ s passport and her frozen embryos, why does the guilty always get off with things in Emmerdale,” whilst a second added: “i’d love Rhona to get banged up for kidnapping Ivy but I won’t hold my breath on that happening #Emmerdale.” A third penned: “#emmerdale — is it too much to hope Rhona is banged up for 30 years?” with a fourth adding: “Rhona in Emmerdale better get custody of Ivy or there will be hell to pay!!!!!” A fifth wrote: “Never liked Gus! Wouldn’t have that baby if it weren’t for Rhona! #Emmerdale.”

Rhona actress Zoe Henry previously explained more about the heartbreaking kidnap scenes. Speaking about the big scenes, she said: “I do get this, I’m not saying I would do it, but she ends up running off with the baby, but I kind of get it. It’s that kind of primal panic of ‘this is my child and you’re going to take her to France and I’m never going to see her again’, so something kicks in.”
