ITV Emmerdale viewers ‘solve’ Ella Forster’s secret after car scene as dark past ‘exposed’

Emmerdale’s Ella Forster was acting suspiciously once more on Monday night, hiding something from those in the village.

Her love interest Liam Cavanagh had noticed she seemed a bit off, before suggesting they catch up soon. Ella suggested dinner the following evening, while claiming she had an early start.

But then, ahead of her sparking further concern this week, viewers saw her sneaking off to the woods where her car was parked. As she scanned the area to make sure no one was looking, Ella opened up the boot and began rummaging around for something.

The contents included several personal items and some bedding, and it looked like her belongings were in the car. Spoilers had revealed the character would be spotted sleeping in her car, having lied previously about her living arrangements.

As the scenes aired on Monday night, viewers were quick to suggest that all the clues pointed to Ella having been in prison, and possibly recently released. While Ella had been working elsewhere prior to her village move, we have not really been told anything about her or how long she was in the job for.

Taking to social media, one fan suggested: “Ella not too long out of clink living in her car til she gets revenge on someone for some stupid past reason.” Another agreed: “Nothing says prison release more than someone appearing from nowhere waddling their way in to someone’s life,” as a third added: “She’s been to prison. Probably shared with Meena.”

A fourth viewer said: “Clearly she is up to something.” It comes as spoilers revealed new scenes would show Ella snap at Mandy Dingle, as she enquired about her family. Amid a mystery care home visit on the way too, Ella remains coy when grilled by Liam about her past and her life prior to heading to the village.

It was a scene in a recent episode that once again left fans convinced she was linked to former villain Meena Jutla. Ella had mentioned having a best friend who was a nurse, before acting strangely when Liam mentioned serial killer Meena’s victim Leanna Cavanagh, his daughter.

One fan posted: “Yup! The Leanna picture, Ella panicking when Meena got mentioned”, as another said: “Ella is so connected to Meena”. Another comment read: “Ella knows Meena 100%.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
