ITV Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle reveals what he’s been hiding in Al Chapman twist
Emmerdale's Moira Dingle was stunned in the latest episode of the ITV soap as her husband Cain Dingle revealed the reason for his odd behaviour recently
Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle made quite the revelation during the latest episode of the ITV soap.
As well as claiming the real Cain was “dead”, he went on to make a revelation about a former character from the soap, as he explained what he was hiding. Cain was acting out of character recently, sparking concern with his wife Moira Dingle.
After a recent near-death experience, Cain continued to act differently, leaving Moira worried about her husband. As she urged him to open up, she questioned whether it could be him nearly dying or his sister Chas Dingle’s health scare that was leading to him acting out.
Chas revealed to her family on Monday that she had been diagnosed with stage one breast cancer. The news left Cain and the others reeling, after Cain and Chas lost their mother Faith to cancer in 2022.But as Moira encouraged Cain to be open with her, he claimed it wasn’t the diagnosis or anything to do with his fight with Aaron Dingle that was the issue. Instead, Cain claimed it was all to do with Al Chapman, revealing he was no longer the man Moira once knew.
After claiming his behaviour was nothing to do with what Moira was talking about, he headed out to clear his head. As he did so, he claimed: “I shouldn’t have let him walk away, Aaron. It’s not what I do is it, the man I was would have sorted him, sorted all of this, but I’m not that man anymore.
“I’m a joke. The real Cain Dingle is dead.” When he returned, he simply told her: “It’s Al.” Viewers will remember that in October 2022, Al Chapman was accidentally shot and killed by Cain’s young son Kyle.
Cain took the blame for the crime and ended up in prison, until the truth did come out after Kyle confessed. Al had been having a fling with Chas amid his long-running feud with Cain prior to his death.
Cain then explained that ever since what happened to Al and how Kyle got dragged into things, he hasn’t been the same since. He told Moira he couldn’t go back to being that person, to stop anything like that from happening again.
As he called himself a “weak” and “pathetic shell of a man”, Moira was heartbroken as Cain told her he didn’t like himself. But Moira embraced her husband, and told him she’d never loved him more.
