Emmerdale viewers will be left fearing for Caleb Milligan next week as he suddenly doubles over in pain with his fate hanging in the balance

Emmerdale fans will be left fearing for Caleb Milligan next week as he suddenly doubles over in pain.

In upcoming scenes this week, Ruby Fox-Milligan goes too far when her temper lands her in very hot water with the Dingles after learning that her carefully laid plans for a life away from the village with estranged husband Caleb Milligan have been undone.

The fiery estranged wife of Caleb showed up in the village earlier this year and has wasted no time in creating a slew of enemies in the village, especially after learning about Caleb’s affair with Tracy Metcalfe which she took delight in exposing to the stunned Dingles earlier this year.

In spoilers for next week after Caleb publicly rejects her, siding with the Dingles, Ruby attempts to win back the family. However, when Cain Dingle learns of Ruby’s “kill them with kindness” ploy, he insists the Dingles can’t be bought and orders Ruby to leave them alone.

Lydia tries to ease Ruby’s concerns about Cain’s ultimatum but when he storms in and grabs Sam’s air fryer off the counter, it’s clear they weren’t empty threats. Things go from bad to worse when Cain smashes all three air fryers with a sledge hammer. Later, Chas reluctantly agrees to help Ruby out as the Dingles start to arrive for Ruby’s impromptu gathering, including a bewildered Caleb.

However, upon realising he’s been tricked into attending, Cain is seething. It’s not long until Caleb and Cain get off to a rocky start but as they appear to be thawing, they’re interrupted by a sudden karaoke performance from a drunken Ruby. The Woolpack gathering then descends into chaos as a drunk Ruby fights for Caleb’s forgiveness.

As things kick off, Caleb steps up to defend Ruby and makes it clear to Cain what side he’s chosen. Later, despite things with Cain being worse than ever, an anxious Ruby hopes that Caleb is committed to her. However, things take a shocking turn later in the week when Nate finds Caleb doubled over with pain. Caleb pleads with Nate for help but will his nephew help him after his affair with his wife or leave Caleb to suffer alone?

Emmerdale airs every week night at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
