Emmerdale was full of explosive scenes on Friday night as Kim Tate had a showdown with Rose.

Rose made her debut last week, where it was revealed that she is the estranged ex-wife of Will Taylor and mother of Dawn Taylor. Rose revealed she and Will had been married, with it clear she’d walked out on them when Dawn was a baby, if not a toddler.

Despite Will never wanting to see her again, Rose made a return on Monday night as she found herself at Home Farm, demanding that Will’s wife Kim Tate let her talk to Dawn. Eventually, Dawn and Rose met but the latter was left annoyed when Dawn insisted that Kim sit in on their reunion. Despite Rose attempting to make amends with her estranged daughter, Dawn was firm they will have no relationship. Wanting to protect her family, Kim privately offered Rose two thousand pounds to return to Spain and never return.

Despite raising the offer to three grand, Rose wouldn’t budge until Kim coldly reminded her of other options she could take that would be worse and Rose reluctantly accepted, leaving Home Farm seemingly for good. However, it was revealed on Tuesday night that Rose hadn’t got very far as she made herself at home in The Woolpack, befriending Kerry Wyatt in the process.

Later, after thinking Rose had left, Billy, Dawn, Will and Kim were stunned to see her at the pub as Rose took delight in telling everyone that Kim paid her off to leave, leaving Dawn shocked and hurt at the discovery. Later, at Home Farm, Will was frustrated that Kim paid off Rose without telling him.

Yet things took another twist when Dawn returned home with her mother in tow, explaining she’s asked Rose to stay with them just while her arm recovers. As the episode ended, Rose and Kim had another showdown, where Rose warned: “You don’t like losing, do you Kim? But you lost today and if you come at me again, you’ll lose again. Here’s to letting a fox into your lovely little hen house!”

However, the feuding duo had more serious things to worry about later in the week when Dawn and Billy’s son, Evan, was rushed to hospital. During Thursday’s episode, Evan had to undergo a biopsy and the couple were told that their son could either have an infection, autoimmune disease or even something like Leukaemia. After learning how serious Evan’s condition is, Will and Kim rushed to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Rose stayed at home as she tried to make out she was worried about her family but soon found herself knocking back the wine. Lydia Dingle, who stepped in to look after Dawn’s other children Clemmie and Lucas, later received a call from Dawn to which Rose tried to get involved with awkward results with it clear the newcomer was feeling left out and unwanted.

On Friday night, Evan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in heartbreaking scenes. The news turned his parents’ world upside down, as the family rallied around them but it was all too much for Rose who tried to sneak away but was caught red-handed by Will and Kim, who confronted her.

Once Will had left, Kim had a stern word with Rose as she grabbed her arm, where she said: “Dawn doesn’t need anymore upset…” to which Rose said: “You’re hurting me!” Kim then warned: “This is nothing, if you let her down I’ll destroy you and I will lie awake at night, thinking of the most painful ways to do it.”

It comes as fans predicted that Kim could end up killing Rose in a bid to protect her family and Home Farm in a dark twist. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “#Emmerdale when Rose double crosses Kim it’ll be a case of…..”, to which a different account put: “Watch it Dawn’s mum Kim has a horse that will kick you#emmerdale” while another wrote: “Kim will destroy you #Emmerdale.”

Emmerdale airs every week night at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
