It comes after Lawrence talked about a time when he thought he was leaving the show. He told the Daily Star that when he heard Charity (played by Emma Atkins) would stab his character, he started to worry about his job.

“The producers pitched it as though I was going to leave the show,” he said. “They told me that Charity stabs Mackenzie and I was like I need to start looking for another job then!”

Mackenzie didn’t die though and actor Lawrence, who has been on the show since 2020, was excited to film the dramatic scenes. He shared: “I was actually excited about having that because I’ve been on the show for a little while now and I’ve not got the chance to do this. Needless to say the novelty of lying in a hospital bed wore off pretty quickly but I’ve never done that.”

Lawrence also mentioned: “They pitched it as I was going to flatline at the end of one episode and everyone was going to be left wondering if I was going to die. So I was quite excited.”
