EMMERDALE viewers have pleaded for show bosses to make a ‘feisty’ new character—who won over their hearts—a permanent fixture on the show.
During Emmerdale’s recent court scenes, fans have been introduced to new additional characters.
A major trial between Rhona Goskirk(Zoe Henry) and ex-husband Gus Malcolms(Alan McKenna) played out during Thursday evening’s hour-long edition of the ITV soap.
Last year, viewers watched as Rhona discovered that her ex-husband Gus and his partner Lucy were expecting a baby together.
However, months earlier, the pair told Rhona that they were having fertility problems and were unable to conceive a child.
Years earlier, before Gus and Lucy got together, Rhona and Gus had IVF treatment, which led to them freezing some embryos, but when they split up, Rhona assumed they had been destroyed.
Little did she know that before the eggs could be destroyed, Gus stopped it from happening before asking if he and Lucy could use them.
Rhona declined their request a year ago, but Gus forged her signature, and Lucy became pregnant with his and Rhona’s embryos.
Sadly, Lucy lost her life while giving birth to baby Ivy, but later on, Rhona then kidnapped the child.
Thursday night’s instalment of the programme saw the action from the trial play out as Rhona and Gus faced each other in court.
One social media Emmerdale viewers seemed to focus on one unexpected character – Rhona’s defence representation in court – as they think she should become a regular cast member in the long-standing soap.
Taking to X(Twitter) One fan penned: “I’m liking Rhona’s feisty lawyer!! #Emmerdale.”
A second user added: “Yessssss I love Rhona’s lawyer #emmerdale.”
“I want Rhona’s defence lawyer as a series regular,” chimed another.
Elsewhere, Rhona has put her freedom on the line by ranting at a judge during her kidnap trial.
The vet lost her temper as she was questioned over why she kidnapped baby Ivy.
