LONG TIME NO SEE Emmerdale legend makes shock return as she’s dumped in the village by police

What has the character been up to during her absence?

REUNION is on the cards for one hopeful villager as a fan favourite returns to the Dales, alongside PC Swirling.

But the Emmerdale icon is set for some major bombshells as she’s given an update on all the events she missed out on.

Amy Wyatt (portrayed by Natalie Ann Jamieson) is getting ready to tie the knot with Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), although she will have to walk down the aisle without her sister Chloe Harris by her side.

ITV viewers will recall that Chloe (Jessie Elland) left the eponymous village last year, in the wake of her father’s death.

Damon Harris aka Harry was shot dead by Charity Dingle after he’d been keeping Mackenzie Boyd hostage.

Next week, Amy and Matty put the tragic events behind but they may get a painful reminder of them as Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) finally returns to Emmerdale.

Kerry has been away from the Yorkshire Dales since late 2022, meaning she is blissfully unaware of what happened to her daughter Chloe, most notably her life-threatening car accident during which she was left to die by Mackenzie in October, 2023.

Despite the time that has gone by, Kerry clearly hasn’t changed as she makes an explosive entrance to the village.

Coming up, Amy and Matty set a date for their wedding but are shocked when Kerry is dropped off by PC Swirling, unmistakably dressed as Cher.

Swirling soon leaves them to allow Kerry to explain the story of how she has been falsely accused of stealing by her fiancé.

Tensions arise between Kerry and her oldest daughter Amy and the pair bicker, as they often do.

However, after a heated argument, a genuinely affectionate Kerry leaves Amy hopeful when she promises she didn’t commit the theft and is back to be a good mum to her family.

How will she react to Chloe’s exit with baby Reuben, her grandson?

As mentioned above, Kerry left Emmerdale in 2022, following the death of her late cheating fiancé Al Chapman.

In the aftermath of his murder, which occurred during a dramatic showdown with long-term foe Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Kerry found out that her beau had left her closer to financial ruin.

This prompted her to take on a job on a cruise ship and leave the Dales in a hurry just as Chloe was getting ready to become a mother.

Off-screen, however, Kerry actress Laura Norton actually left the long-running show to go on maternity leave.

The soap legend welcomed her second child, a daughter named Ronnie, with her fiancé Mark Jordon in October, 2022.

Last year, the engaged couple then announced that both Ronnie and her older brother Jesse had been diagnosed with Usher syndrome.

What does Kerry have in store for her return to the village?

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
