Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) has been rushed to hospital in Emmerdale after experiencing a heart attack.
The beloved face is in the middle of a stressful ordeal after discovering Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) secret about Amit (Anil Goutam).
After Jai learnt Amit pushed Rishi (Bhasker Patel) down the stairs before he died, he tortured his biological father in an attempt to get revenge. He then told Amit to sign over all of his shares in the HOP business, and leave for India without saying goodbye to Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana).
One person who knew about the return of Jai’s dark side was Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell). He took advantage of keeping Jai’s secret quiet by regularly visiting The Hide for free drinks.
Last week, this behaviour frustrated Jai so much, he snapped at Pollard – but it happened right in front of Laurel, who then demanded to know what was going on.
In tonight’s (July 3) episode of the ITV soap, Jai arrived at Holdgate to talk to Suni.
When Nicky (Lewis Cope) opened the door and revealed Suni was in the shower, Jai used this as a perfect excuse to not talk to his brother. He told Nicky not to worry and left, later finding Laurel at the church.
A troubled Jai unleashed some vile words at Laurel and when he insulted her late partner Ashley, she stood up, called Jai a weak man, and told him to leave.
As Jai left, Laurel started to experience difficulty breathing. With her emotions becoming overwhelming, Laurel suddenly collapsed to the floor.
Thankfully, Gabby (Rosie Bentham) found Laurel and called an ambulance.
Meanwhile, in The Hide, Jai was preparing himself to talk to Suni but was growing irritated at Gabby’s phone calls.
Eventually, he picked up, and was horrified to learn what had happened to Laurel.
In the village, as Laurel was wheeled into the ambulance, Jai stood outside.
Suni tried to tell his sibling that she’ll be alright, but with knowledge the doctors were working on the basis Laurel had a heart attack, Jai really wasn’t sure.
But will Laurel survive?
