Rhona had called on a close friend to come back and help her after running off with the tot.
EMMERDALE fans have raged at Rhona Goskirk as she made a life-changing decision after kidnapping baby Ivy.
The vet took drastic action last week after her ex Gus said he wanted to take his daughter back so he could move to France.
Rhona ran away with the tot before calling Vanessa Woodfield in Canada and asking her to come back and help her.
In tonight’s episode, Vanessa told Rhona her plan was crazy and that kidnapping a child was not what she thought she was returning to help with.
But Rhona was adamant she couldn’t give up Ivy – who was born after Gus and his late wife Lucy stole her frozen embryos.
She told Vanessa: “Well if you really want to help, there is one thing you can do for me.
“Help me get away, help me start a new life….in Canada.”
Vanessa quickly told her how insane her plan was, especially as she had left husband Marlon, son Leo and Marlon’s daughter April at home.
She asked: “Even if I could help, think about what you’d be doing. Are you really going to leave your family, your friends, your whole life?”
Rhona pointed out she had moved to Canada last year but Vanessa said: “Minor difference, I was on a sabbatical not on the run, I didn’t have a husband, or April or Leo.”
But Rhona replied: “Besides I want them to join us when we’re settled.”
Vanessa was flabbergasted, asking: “How is that going to work? Are you just going to get Marlon to print off a bunch of fake passports?
“This isn’t real and you know it isn’t!”
Emmerdale viewers were equally appalled at Rhona’s plan and took to X – formerly Twitter to comment on it.
One wrote: “Rhona totally delusional is she thinks she’d even get to stay in Canada.”
Another added: “Rhona really is living in a dream world!”
A third tweeted: “I just find it completely unrealistic that Rhona would just up and leave Leo like that, a young child with a disability who is so familiar with her and their routine.”
In the end, Vanessa let Marlon and Rhona’s mum know their location, and he raced over to talk her out of running away with Ivy.
But just as they were leaving the holiday rental, Gus arrived with the police, who arrested Rhona on suspicion of kidnap.
