OH MY DALES Four huge ITV Emmerdale theories: legend gets revenge, new killer in the Dales and shock pregnancy

Viewers are expecting things to take a sinister turn for two soap icons.

MACKENZIE Boyd has been hit with backlash off-screen as his treatment of Charity Dingle left viewers fuming.

But this week, one legend returns to Emmerdale and he may have a lot of explaining to do. Here’s what could happen.

1. Payback for Mack

The heartthrob portrayed by Lawrence Robb has been trying to make it up to his wife Charity Dingle after neglecting her for several weeks – which led to her spiralling out of control and stabbing him during a night terror.

While doing so, Mack is keeping his mind off his son Reuben who was taken away by Chloe Harris following Harry aka Damon Harris’ death on Christmas Day.

However, this week on ITV, Mackenzie could get a sore reminder that he is a sonless father as actress Laura Norton reprises the role of Kerry Wyatt.

Kerry has been away from the Yorkshire Dales since late 2022, meaning she is blissfully unaware of what happened to her daughter Chloe, most notably her life-threatening car accident during which she was left to die by Mackenzie in October, 2023.

Despite the time that has gone by, Kerry clearly hasn’t changed as she makes an explosive entrance to the village.

Coming up, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) set a date for their wedding but are shocked when Kerry is dropped off by PC Swirling, unmistakably dressed as Cher.

Swirling soon leaves them to allow Kerry to explain the story of how she has been falsely accused of stealing by her fiancé.

Tensions arise between Kerry and her oldest daughter Amy and the pair bicker, as they often do.

However, after a heated argument, a genuinely affectionate Kerry leaves Amy hopeful when she promises she didn’t commit the theft and is back to be a good mum to her family.

But how will she react when she figures out that Chloe, her estranged daughter, mostly left the eponymous village because of Mackenzie?

One could theorised that Kerry may get revenge for her daughter in a more efficient way than Harry has done in the past by holding Mack captive.

A handful of viewers have also speculated that Kerry’s return may tease Chloe’s own surprise comeback, despite actress Jessie Elland moving on to other ventures and publishing her own novel.

2. Shock breakup

Meanwhile, Mack may have a lot more on his plate than he imagined as he tries to help Charity (Emma Atkins) with her overwhelming PTSD symptoms.

After stabbing him in a panic following a night terror, Charity decided it was time for them to end their chaotic romance as she saw no way of going forward in the marriage, terrified of hurting him again.

This week, she seems to backtrack as Mack hears there will be no charges pressed against her.

Relieved, Mack tries to hug Charity but she flinches out of his grasp.

Soon, he’s encouraged when Charity texts to say he can bring the kids round tomorrow.

Welcoming the kids that afternoon, Charity feels overwhelmed but puts on an act for their benefit.

She hesitates to say how she feels to Mack, but he understands, and they separately sense progress has been made.

Off-screen, viewers of the Yorkshire-based program have not been happy with Mackenzie, due to his track record in the Dales.

This includes cheating on Charity with Chloe Harris and fathering her son Reuben before leaving her to die in a horrific car crash.

Viewers are begging for Charity to finally see sense and get rid of Mackenzie.

“Well done Charity. Now here’s hoping therapy will make her realise she needs to get rid of Mack and that she is worth more than him”, one of them penned on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Another fumed: “Why can that man not take no for an answer. He did this when Charity said she didn’t want a baby…when she didn’t want him to move in…and now when she wants to be alone.”

“Charity needs to be free from Mackenzie’s orbit”, another agreed.

Many fans are hoping to see Charity rekindle her romance with former fiancée Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) who recently came back to the eponymous village.

However, one soap watcher doesn’t believe Vanessa and Charity will ever find each other again.

Instead, Charity could be roaming in the village as a single woman to recover from her PTSD.

“I’ve told you all ‘vanity’ is dead Emmerdale have made sure Charity and Vanessa will never get back together they prefer that she stays with the guy that has destroyed who she really is”, they wrote.

Could Charity decide to put her mental health first and leave Mackenzie once and for all?

3. Killer Rhona

Elsewhere in the Dales, Rhona Goskirk (Zoë Henry) is still determined to have access to baby Ivy.

Her former husband Gus Malcolms (Alan McKenna) made her a sickening proposition last week, vowing to let her be a more prominent part of the tot’s life – if she blamed his dead wife Lucy for stealing her embryos without her consent.

Viewers have taken to social media with a plethora of different theories.

“My guess is Gus’s wife isn’t really dead. Seen a few theories about this lately”, one of them penned.

“100000% Gus is gonna tell the court Marlon attacked him .. I bet ya”, another commented while a third viewer chimed in: “Gus is smart, get Rhona to blame Lucy & he gets off scot-free & takes off with Ivy.”

But another theory is slowly emerging online – what if Rhona, who has proven she’s not one to frown upon kidnapping, spiralled enough to get rid of Gus… permanently?

This week, Rhona realises Gus is deceiving her and promises to continue fighting until Ivy is under her care.

What will she be willing to do?

4. Pregnancy plot

While the spotlight is turned away from them, Belle and Tom King (respectively played by Eden Taylor-Draper and James Chase) are keeping viewers on their toes.

Many soap watchers have rumbled a hard-hitting domestic abuse storyline as Tom’s controlling behaviour leaves Belle feeling drained and humiliated.

But another fan took to social media and hinted that Tom may take things to a twisted level in upcoming weeks.

“I feel like Tom wants a stay at home wife, He clearly doesn’t want her out shopping or working and I also reckon he’s trying to get her pregnant, so she has no choice but to stay home”, they wrote.

Could Belle soon find out she is pregnant?

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
