OVER IT! ‘Listen to fans!’ beg Emmerdale fans as they rage ‘terrible’ couple are turning soap into ‘pathetic borefest’
Charity made a poignant decision in the latest episode of the show
EMMERDALE fans have been begging the soap’s writers to ditch one show couple once and for all.
The programme has heavily centred on the on-off and up-down nature of Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) romance with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).
Over the past year, fans of the ITV soap opera have seen the couple get married in an epic wedding before it all quickly came crashing down.
Mack’s infidelity was soon exposed and the fact that he was the father of Reuben Harris, the daughter of teen Chloe who he had enjoyed a one-night stand with behind his wife’s back.
He later split from Charity in order to live in perfect harmony with Chloe and their baby boy but it soon became clear that he was determined to get back with Charity.
Soon they had an affair behind Chloe’s back and she executed her revenge by taking Reuben away but it soon had dire consequences.
She recruiter her evil father Harry who kidnapped and tortured Mack and forced him to sign over any parental rights he had to Chloe.
Realising Mack was trapped, Charity soon went to free him and during an explosive confrontation, shot and killed Chloe’s dad and has been living with the mental torment ever since.
She has ended their romance countless times over the last few weeks and now soap fans are branding the predictability of the plot a “borefest” in a huge blow to bosses.
Last night, the pair had a full and frank conversation about their future with Charity admitting she wanted to leave him so she wouldn’t hurt him again.
But when it came down to it – she couldn’t do it.
“I’m sorry. I thought I could do this,” she said.
“I thought I could let you go. What have you done to me? You are my soul mate. And I’m not sure I can get through this without you.”
Mackenzie told her: “Then don’t. Let me help. You and me are stronger together.”
Now, fans are furious that they haven’t split for good as they begged for the pair to be buried in sadness following a painful marriage split.
Ranting online, one unhappy viewer said: “Wtf #emmerdale why is the Charity and Mack story still going?
“Terrible couple, why does Emma gush about their love story? Has turned Charity from top tier character to pathetic borefest.
“Emma fab with therapy scenes but need to ditch the cling on skiddy mark known as Mack asap!”
Another similarly echoed: “Wtf Emmerdale you actually made us believe charity and that t*** Mack were gonna break up but no you had to get our hopes up for nothing listen to your f***ing viewers nobody likes charity and Mack we all want vanity back together.”
A third added: “The chance for Charity to empower herself, put herself first and get the support she so clearly requires is right there…. The #Emmerdale Writers: Nah, put her back in a toxic, co-dependent relationship with Mack.”
Before a fourth also said: “Charity storyline is ridiculous.. She’s abandoned her kids, her grandkids and husband, all the people that can support her …. #Emmerdale get some new scriptwriters in, its becoming a joke.”
