RHO-NO Rhona Goskirk kidnaps baby Ivy as ex Gus makes shock decision in Emmerdale
Rhona has been feeling a strong pull towards baby Ivy.
GUS Malcolms has needed help from his ex wife Rhona Goskirk as he’s tried to adapt to fatherhood with baby Ivy.
But after weeks of fighting off the need to connect with her biological daughter, the Emmerdale vet makes a big move.
Following the heartbreaking death of his wife Lucy, Gus Malcolms (portrayed by Alan McKenna) was left alone to take care of their baby daughter Ivy.
But by using his former wife Rhona Goskirk’s (Zoë Henry) frozen embryos, Gus has made things even harder for himself as the village vet is clearly unwilling to let go of the baby.
In recent scenes of the ITV soap, an overwhelmed Gus decided to trust Rhona to take care of Ivy while he was adapting to his new situation.
The presence of baby Ivy at Smithy Cottage has caused tensions to arise between Rhona and her husband Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock).
But next week, things go from bad to worse as Rhona’s concerned to see Gus is coping well with Ivy.
She’s then filled with dread when he explains he wants Ivy back full time.
As he packs up her things and heads out with her, Rhona tells Marlon that she hopes Ivy will play up for Gus.
The following day, they meet up with Gus and an emotional Rhona smothers the baby with affection.
However, she’s distraught when Gus moots finding them both a permanent new home.
Marlon asks Gus whether he’d be willing to let them co-parent but Gus tells them he plans to move to France.
In other scenes, guilty over his decision to go, Gus asks if Rhona and Marlon can take care of Ivy for the day, giving them a chance to say goodbye properly.
With all hope lost, Rhona is broken and she holds Ivy close.
Later, Marlon returns home to find Ivy and Rhona missing, along with their belongings.
Panicked, he explains to Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) that Rhona has taken off with Ivy.
Both are frantic with worry as they begin the search for Rhona and the baby.
Will they find the pair?
Could Rhona manage to disappear with baby Ivy?
Will she come to her senses?
