The next stage of Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) business plan got underway in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale.

If you aren’t quite aware of what’s going on, allow us to explain. Because Caleb knows destroying Kim (Claire King) and Home Farm isn’t possible anymore, he’s taken a different approach by building up an empire right alongside hers.

A few days ago, Caleb confirmed to Ruby that for his new plan, he needs a number of lorries to ferry his products back and forth. Due to the fact Kim’s husband Will (Dean Andrews) is part of Home James Haulage, he figured it would be the perfect idea to destroy and take over that business.

In tonight’s episode, Will was stressed over the arrival of another inspector from HMRC. When Aaron (Danny Miller) and Jimmy (Nick Miles) got to the scrapyard, Will revealed there had been rumours about red diesel on the premises, a type of fuel that isn’t actually legal to use.

While Will turned his attention to Billy (Kay Kontzle) and accused him, a downbeat Jimmy took himself off to the pub for some food, worried about how another fine would impact his family’s business and future.

Inside the Woolpack enjoying a drink was Caleb, who had got word from Ruby about the developments with Jimmy.

Slipping himself into the conversation, Caleb’s manipulation and discussion about what a successful businessman he is managed to push Jimmy into asking Caleb to buy the firm.

Back at Mill Cottage, Caleb updated Ruby, but she was surprised when her husband said he hadn’t accepted the deal.

Ruby sat Caleb down and told him to put aside his view on Jimmy for a moment because in time, once he takes over the business and builds his kingdom, Jimmy will eventually thank him for everything he’s done.

Ruby thinks it’ll be worth it in the end – but is she right?
